ANSWERS

How is "Magrette" pronounced?

We pronounce it as "Mah-gret-tee".

Are all Magrette models limited editions?

Yes, all Magrette watches are produced in limited quantities only. Each watch receives a unique serial number engraved in the back. Anmd when they're gone, they're gone. Otherwise "limited" would be meaningless.

Where are the Magrette products made?

Magrette watches are assembled and tested in Auckland, New Zealand. The different components are sourced from different parts of the world. The packaging of pinewood and Kauri timber, the leather- and canvas roll cases are made in New Zealand. Some parts have made a long journey before arriving at their new owner!

How big is the set-up of the company?

Magrette Timepieces is a small company, managed by the owner - Dion McAsey - in Auckland, New Zealand. Ofcourse, Dion is working together with some other people to properly run the company. These are all people with passion, sometimes operating from a large distance. Modern communication technology enables such a set-up. You can think of a copy writer, photographer, artwork designer, technical advisor, distributor and the manufacturers of parts and packaging.

Magrette Timepieces Europe is the only distributor outside New Zealand and based in Zaltbommel, The Netherlands. This company is also managed by 1 person, Stephan Trimbos. He and Dion got in touch with eachother beginning 2008 which resulted in an exclusive distribution agreement for the Benelux and Germany area with the possibility to service customers in other European countries as well.

Will I get documents with my watch?

Yes. You will receive an ownership document with your personal data and the watch details (for example the serial number). You will also receive a brief owners' manual and instructions with regards to guarantee. We will include a paper invoice in the package as well.

How can I pay?

We work together with DocData Payment Systems to securely handle your payment.

The payment methods that can be used depend on the country from which payment is made. You can choose between two basic options:

1. Use DocData payment options (free of charge). Some methods available:
- Local bank transfer (transfer to a DocData bank account in your country: no hassle.)
- Sofortüberweisung/DirectEbanking (direct debit via your own bank: safe and easy. For more information, please click: DirectEbanking)
- Using the iDeal payment system (in The Netherlands only). iDeal is an online payment method that is directly linked to the internet-banking functionality of a large number of dutch banks. If you are using internet banking from ABN AMRO, Fortis, Postbank, Rabobank or SNS Bank, you can pay directly using iDEAL. For more information, please click: www.ideal.nl.
- Bancontact/Mr. Cash (popular in Belgium). Another local online payment methid. Direct bank debit via your bank's interface. Comparable to iDeal and Sofortüberweisung. For more info, click: Bancontact/Mr.Cash
- International bank transfer (transfer to an international DocData bank account, suing IBAN/BIC
)

2. Via PayPal (see www.paypal.com). PayPal is the leading internet payment method and is part of the eBay company. Using paypal it is easy to transfer money, also if you're using a credit card. It is possible to transfer money from your bank account to PayPal and pay using the PayPal service. You can also link your bank account or your credit card to your PayPal account (Visa and Mastercard). Payment via credit card is supported even if you are no member of PayPal yet. You will then use Paypal as a guest. Due to the high cost of PayPal for merchants, we calculate 2% in fees on top of your total order amount.
