How is "Magrette" pronounced?
We pronounce it as "Mah-gret-tee".
Are all Magrette models limited editions?
Yes, all Magrette watches are limited to maximum 500 pieces per model worldwide. Each watch receives a unique serial number engraved in the back.
Where are the Magrette products made?
Magrette watches are assembled and tested in Auckland, New Zealand. The different components are sourced from different parts of the world. The signature series straps are produced in Canada from leather of New Zealand origin, the dials arrive from Germany and the cases from Asia. The packaging of pinewood and Kauri timber, the leather- and canvas roll cases are made in New Zealand. Some parts have made a long journey before arriving at their new owner!
How big is the set-up of the company?
Magrette Timepieces is a small company, managed by the owner - Dion McAsey - in Auckland, New Zealand. Ofcourse, Dion is working together with some other people to properly run the company. These are all people with passion, sometimes operating from a large distance. Modern communication technology enables such a set-up. You can think of a copy writer, photographer, artwork designer, technical advisor, distributor and the manufacturers of parts and packging.
Magrette Timepieces Europe is the only distributor outside New Zealand and based in Zaltbommel, The Netherlands. This company is also managed by 1 person, Stephan Trimbos. He and Dion got in touch with eachother beginning 2008 which resulted in an exclusive distribution agreement for the Benelux and Germany area.
Will I get documents with my watch?
Yes. You will receive an ownership document with your pesonal data and the watch details (for example the serial number). You will also receive a brief owners' manual and instructions with regards to guarantee. Furthermore, you will receive a printed copy of the invoice, that you will already have received by email during the online order process.
How do I order a product in the web shop?
After you have made your choice, the webshop will guide you through the steps of the order process:
1. Selection of the article and place the order
2. Entering your data (by logging in, or registering your data for the first time)
3. If required, changing the delivery address (if different from the invoice address)
4. Choosing the shipping method
5. Choosing the payment method
6. Final check of the order and agree to the general terms and conditions
7. Payment possibly online via Paypal or iDEAL
Your order has now been processed. You will receive a confirmation by email. All further communication and order status updates will be sent via email, so please ensure that the email address you submitted is correct and that the inbox is checked regularly for new mesages.
How can I pay?
You can pay using the following methods:
- Transfer the amount to our bank account (via internet banking, transfer order, cash deposit via your bank (or any other way you are used to). Our bank details are sent with the order confirmation.
- Using the iDeal payment system (in The Netherlands only). iDeal is an online payment method that is directly linked to the internet-banking functionality of a large number of dutch banks. If you are using internet banking from ABN AMRO, Fortis, Postbank, Rabobank or SNS Bank, you can pay directly using iDEAL. You are then able to pay quickly and easily in the existing internet banking environment of your bank. Exactly as you're used to. For more information, please click: www.ideal.nl.
- Via Paypal (see www.paypal.com). Via paypal it is easy to transfer money, also if you're using a credit card. It is possible to transfer money from your bank account to paypal and pay from the paypal service. You can also link your bank account or your credit card to your paypal account (Visa and Mastercard). Paypal is the leading internet payment method and is part of the eBay company.
- Cash: Only when picking up the order by appointment.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes. An invoice will follow via email and is always available on-line. A print-out of the invoice will be included in the delivery package.
How can I see my order status?
The order status will always be confirmed by email after it has changed. The order status is also published online in your account.
The most common order of status changes is:
1. Waiting for confirmation: The order still has to be confirmed.
2. Your order is confimed: Your order has been accepted and can be processed.
3. Your payment is received: Your payment has been received.
4. Your order has been sent: your order has been handed over to the shipping agent
What happens if my product is out of stock?
If (part of) your order is not in stock, we will contact you within 7 busines days to indicate delivery time(s). If, at that moment, you wish to cancel (part of) your order, we will reimburse you the already paid sum.
Can I cancel my order?
Every order can be cancelled without requiring a specified reason and without payment of a fine, if not yet shipped, within 24 hours after confirming the order. The customer is required to send an email to

first. The cancellation of the order will be confirmed by email. As soon as a request for cancellation has been confimed by us, you can regard your cancellation as having been received properly. If payment for the cancelled order already has been made, Magrette Timepieces Europe will pay back the amount received within 14 days at maximum.
How are products shipped?
The products are shipped using the following methods:
- Secure shipment with insurance by TNT for shipment in The Netherlands. The package is placed inside a special seal bag to ensure insurance as jewellery. Contrary to what many people think, a "TNT Zeker Pakket" is not suitable for money, certificates of value and jewellery.The shipment will be insured to a maximum of € 500,-.
- Secure shipment with insurance by TNT for shipment in the European Union. Contrary to what many people think, a "TNT Internationaal Pakket Plus" is not suitable for money, certificates of value and jewellery.The shipment will be insured to a maximum of € 500,-.
- In a so-called cushioned air-envelope. This is only possible for goods up to a value of € 50,- and small enough to fit in the used A5-size envelope. Please note: this shipping method is not insured!
- Pick up, only by appointment.
We will not send products to countries outside of the European Union!

What is the "Koop op afstand / distant buying regulation"?
The regulation "koop op afstand" is a law that protects the consumers' interests. This regulation is in effect for door-to-door selling, postorder purchases and online purchases.
